The consultancy firm highlights that the tourisms "an important pole of development" because "it is a strong generator of currency", it has "a big incidence in the generation of jobs (including jobs of different characteristics and in very different activities)" and "because of the expansion that produces over other areas of the economy."

The registered incomes in Argentina because of the tourism last year had already tripled the exportations of meat and equalize the exportation of petroleum, two of the traditional of the economy of this South American country.

The government of Buenos Aires considers as a strategic market the ones of Mexico and Canada and, over all, the north and east European countries where, according to Aime, "every day there is more interest for the different Argentine destinations."

Other potential markets are, for the authorities of the South American country, China, India, Russia and Japan "Because of their huge population and the rise of their acquisitive power", said the two responsible of the Tourism Area.

Aguilera pointed out that the tourist area became "a big helping hand" in many regions when the serious economical crisis that attacked the country two years ago. "It was then, - said- when we realized that it was necessary to back up its development."

But this area will only be transformed in the engine of the Argentine economy if it is implemented with the rest of the activities that has traditionally joined the production of the country, like the agriculture or livestock.

"It is about transforming a country of production of raw material in a nation of services", said Aguilera, who precise that "there is yet much work to do in this field, although we have already noticed the sensibility of many areas to be incorporated in tourism".

The major difficulty that Argentina faces up to is to get those objectives to raise their aerial connection with other countries and inside their own nation, according to both secretaries.

In this sense, Aime declare that "although it has been incorporated new ruts and frequencies, and there has been an important activity "aerocomercial", the situation is more dedicated and it needs more attention."

"We want the tourist to optimize his hours, and to spend his little time to visit and to enjoy things and not to spend the money in airports or in bad railways." he said.

The responsible of the Argentine tourism assure that the country maintain acceptable levels of security, even beyond neighbor countries, for this factor dos not represent a problem for the development of the tourism.

They also rule out the production of political differences between Argentina and its neighbors, especially Chile, to undertake projects of tourist development together.

"When we talk about tourism, there are no political differences", said Aguilera, who asserted that "we have a great relation with Chile in the tourist area. We share a great frontier and the private activities of both countries are simonized and we work together." he said.
